Class of 1952

MEXICO — The class of 1952 from Stephens High School of Rumford will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, at the Chicken Coop for their monthly luncheon. All class members and guests welcome.

Class of 1956

MEXICO — The Stephens High School class of 56 luncheon will be held at noon Tuesday, Jan. 3, at the Mexico Chicken Coop. For more information call Steve Gallant at 562-7081.

CMCC registration

FRYEBURG/BETHEL — Oxford County residents interested in taking Central Maine Community College courses in the spring semester are invited to attend one of the registration nights to be held Wednesday, Jan. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fryeburg Academy, or Thursday, Jan. 5, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Telstar High School. College staff will be on hand to discuss classes offered, degree programs, financial aid and scholarship availability.

Students will be able to register for courses that evening. Checks made out to CMCC will be required for payment. Spring semester classes begin Jan. 17. Space is limited. A complete list of course offerings in Oxford County is online at www.cmcc.edu/off_campus/default.asp.

Texas hold ’em

RUMFORD — A Texas Hold’em game will take place on Saturday, Jan. 7, at the American Legion. Registration is from 9 to 10 a.m. The game will begin at 10. There is a $50 entry fee.

Isabella meeting

RUMFORD — St. Timothy Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the Holy Savior Church Hall.

Bethel seniors

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the Bethel Methodist Church for their meeting and luncheon. This will be a potluck meal with members bringing a dish to share. Membership dues of $3 are also due at this meeting. New members are always welcome. Diabetes support

RUMFORD — Certified diabetes educator Barbara MacGregor will host a new, free diabetes support group at Rumford Hospital. The first meeting will be Wednesday, Jan. 18, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Conference Room A on the hospital’s ground floor.

During this first meeting discussion will revolve around the goals for the group, meeting schedules, speakers and sharing guidelines and responsibilities. Plans are to make this a monthly meeting scheduled on a regular day and time that is most convenient for the participants. When schools are cancelled due to inclement weather, the meetings will also be cancelled.
