LEWISTON – L/A Arts’ Gallery 5 will host a Maine Art Educators exhibit of oil, acrylic, sculpture, photography, fused glass and mixed media.     

 Contributing artists teach in Maine’s public and private schools, and universities. They are members of the Maine Art Educators Association, an arts advocacy organization that promotes artistic learning, encourages innovation and research in art education and the exchange of ideas and practices among teachers.

Featured artists are Kay McKeever Allison, Deb Arter, Katharine Ayer, Debra Bickfords, Corliss Chastain, Jeanne Eschenbach, Jane Ferriss, Jennifer Lonergan, Diane Noble, Allison Price, Shawn Rice, Raegan Russell, Meryl Ruth, Jodi Thomas, Deloras White and Becky Wright.

The exhibit opens Friday, Jan. 13, with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery at 49 Lisbon St.

The public is also invited to Art Break every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. People are urged to bring lunch to the gallery to enjoy the artwork and quiet music. For more information, call 782-7228.
