AUBURN — After building an insurmountable 11-point lead in the first half, St. Dom’s cruised to a comfortable 47-32 win over Winthrop in WMC girls’ basketball action Wednesday.
Veteran guard Mary Caron led the Saints (3-8) with 16 points, while Callie Greco tallied 11 and McKenzie Roy added 10.
The Ramblers (0-11) were paced by Jess Scott with a game-high 19 points.
Mt. Abram 49, Carrabec 27
SALEM — Tori Beane ignited a 19-7 run in the fourth quarter that allowed Mt. Abram to seal a 49-27 victory over Carrabec in a MVC girls’ basketball tilt Wednesday.
Beane tallied eight of her 17-point total in the fourth stanza to lead the Roadrunners (7-5). Miranda Smith also contributed with 13 points in a well-balanced attack.
The Cobras (3-8) were paced by Makayla Leeman and Jessica Vallaincourt with seven points apiece.
Boys’ hockey
Bridgton 7, Hebron 4
HEBRON — The Bridgton Academy hockey squad tallied three goals in both the second and third period Wednesday and skated on to record a 7-4 victory over Hebron in a prep school hockey match.
Colin Edwards, Zach Wells and Jimmy McGrath led Bridgton with two goals apiece, while Brendan Glynn also tallied to complete the scoring.
Hebron recieved goals from Shane Hearn, Sam Cloutier, PM Lapointe and Trevor Buchas. Max Motew (14 saves) and Alex Bitsakis (15 saves) split time between the pipes for Hebron, while Patrick Farrington made 32 saves for Bridgton.
