“Chosen: Adoption Stories,” a play that explores the difficulties and rewards of adoption, opens this weekend at UU Theater at the First Universalist Church in Auburn. Actors with Out of the Box Theatre portray adoptees, adoptive parents, birth parents and wannabe adoptive parents. Above, Michelle Washburn as Grace and Gerry Therrien as David rehearse their happily-ever-after story, “Adoption Day,” the final of 23 monologues. “Chosen,” by local playwright Linda Britt, will be staged Jan. 21-22 and 28-29. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets, $10, may be purchased by calling L/A Arts at 782-7228 or visiting www.laarts.org.
