JAY – Isabelle “Izzy” Newman, age 4, daughter of Brian Newman and Jasmine Marston of Oxford, granddaughter of Phillip and Amy (Ouellette) Newman of Livermore Falls and Licia Newman, Donna Lebrok and Jim Marston, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma on Jan. 4.

Neuroblastoma is a childhood cancer that strikes children, usually under the age of 5. Izzy has been at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center since Jan. 1. She will receive chemotherapy for several months and then will go to Boston for more intensive chemo treatments, plus surgery and two stem cell transplants.

Several fundraisers are being planned, including a spaghetti supper at the Knight’s of Columbus Hall in Jay on Feb. 18 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Supper will include spaghetti with meat sauce, cole slaw, rolls and dessert. Tickets are $7 for those over 12, $5 ages 4 to 12 and free under 4. There will be a raffle, silent (Chinese) auction, 50/50 raffle, plus Bears and More will be there to create one-of-a-kind bears.

In addition, bracelets in support of Izzy are being sold at Beauty of the Soul Day Spa in Livermore Falls. Anyone wishing to make monetary donations, something for the supper or raffles can contact Linda Ouellette at 897-2407 or send to 4 Pinewood Rd. in Jay.
