JAY — RSU 73 Spruce Mountain Adult Education has listed the following classes that will begin in March.

Personal health/building your own wellness team: Local health care providers’ expertise will help you learn how to maintain a healthy, energized lifestyle. There will be multiple speakers, door prizes and fun learning. Classes will meet at the Jay Middle School on Thursdays for six weeks beginning March 1. This class is free.

Fly tying: Learn how to tie fishing flies. Men and women of all ages are welcome. Feathers and hooks are supplied. Participants will tie between eight and 12 different flies. Bring a vise, scissors, bobbin, black and red thread. Saturday, March 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at RSU 73 Adult Education. $30 fee.

French for beginners: Learn how to use the French language in your daily life and travel. The class will be held at the Spruce Mountain High School South on Tuesdays from Feb. 28 until May 15. $80.

Spanish for beginners: Learn the basics of the Spanish language. The class will be held at Spruce Mountain High School South on Thursdays from March 1 to May 17. $80.

Hospice volunteer training: Did you know that about 50 percent of patients in nursing homes have no friends or family visit them? Join us for this fascinating exploration into hospice and a unique and comforting approach to care for the mind, body and spirit at the end of life. Those completing the course will be prepared to begin helping care for Beacon Hospice patients. This class is free. Classes will meet at the Spruce Mountain High School South on Thursdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. from March 12 through May 3.
