RUMFORD — The officers and members of Le Paresseux Club will hold their annual Saint Patrick’s Outing on March 17 and 18 at their club, 227 Waldo St.
On Saturday starting at 1 p.m. the club opens and at 2 p.m. a Fraternal Union meeting will take place. From 5 to 6 p.m. there will be a corned beef and ham supper with potatoes, cabbage, carrots and turnips. The cost is $8 per person, $4 for children 12 and under. Following the dinner will be a dance from 7 to 11 p.m. with music of Rock & Roll Legends bands.
At 9 a.m. on Sunday, March 18, the day will begin with a parade line up in front of Thibeault Funeral Home, Penobscot Street. Cars will follow behind the marching units for members who cannot march and want to ride in a car with the Club name on the side. At 9:10 a.m. the parade departs for Mass and Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Parish of the Holy Savior (St. Athanasius-St John) Church.
At 10:20 a.m. the parade will reassemble to depart back to the club. A meatloaf dinner at the club will be served at noon for $4, $2 for children 12 years and under.
At 2 p.m., awards for the parade will take place. Awards will be given for drum corps, color guard and most numerous from the United States and Canada.
King, Queen, Prince and Princess from the 2012 International Snowshoe Championship held in Lewiston are welcome to take part in the parade and will be escorted as a group into the church.
