POLAND — Local author, Martha Stevens-David of Minot, will appear at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at the Poland Historical Society District 22 School House along Route 26.
David will speak about her recently published book, “Autobiography of a Simple Soul,” a collection of short stories about growing up in the small Aroostook County town of Ashland.
Wishing to be a writer since the age of 9, she has worked on her short story collection for nearly 30 years and it was only after retiring from the Bates College Museum of Art in 2008 that she began sharing her work.
David also writes children’s stories and poetry. Her next book, “Memories … Another Place, Another Time,” is scheduled for June release. To contact David, call 966-3905.
