BROWNFIELD — Singer-songwriter and bass player Heather Masse, who released her second album with the Billboard-charting folk supergroup The Wailin’ Jennys in February 2011, will perform Friday, April 6, at Stone Mountain Arts Center.

The New York-based artist heard frequently on Garrison Keillor’s national radio show “A Prairie Home Companion,” will also perform Saturday, April 7, at One Longfellow Square in Portland.

Mass has shared the stage with Elvis Costello, Wynton Marsalis, Sheryl Crow and the Boston Pops Orchestra.

She is touring with Jed Wilson in support of her latest album, “Bird Song,” an autumn collection of acoustic pop and jazz songs with uplifting songs like “Our World” and “Bird Song,” co-written with Wailin’ Jenny Nicky Mehta. Alternately melancholy and playful, Masse also tears it up on the sassy country number “High Heeled Woman” and on the sexy blues song “Bathtub.”

Featuring Crooked Still’s Aoife O’Donovan on harmonies, the CD was produced by Masse in collaboration with engineer Kent Heckman and fellow band members Jed Wilson,  Karl Doty, Lyle Brewer and Joel Arnow.

Both concerts are at 8 p.m. For tickets ($23) to the show at Stone Mountain Arts Center, 695 Dug Way Road, call  935-7292  or visit stonemountainartscenter.com/ArtsCenter/Heather-Masse.html.
