ANSWER: Sun Spots is very grateful to Sue for taking the time to write and inform readers about this very important service.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am submitting this request for my friend Russell, who has asked me to query your readers. His 40-year-old daughter was born with nearly total deafness after her mother had measles while carrying their daughter.
Hearing aids have helped for many years, but now her hearing has deteriorated to the point that she barely hears what is said to her. They are considering a cochlea implant but would like to hear from readers what their experience with them has been.
His phone number is 353-8218. Even though he has no answering machine, he does have caller ID and will return any calls he’s not at home to take.
Any information will be appreciated. Thanks for all the good you do. — Prudence via email
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I work for the animals at the animal shelter in Lewiston. I am knitting blankets for the cats in the shelter. If you know someone who has four-ply yarn (not cone) that they don’t use, please call me at 777-1593. I don’t have a car. If you could bring the yarn to me, I will pay for your gas. I enjoy knitting. It passes the day. — Germaine Nolan, Lewiston
