Volunteers and staff prepared a ham dinner for 300 people, Pastor John Robbins said. Gonzalez is in charge of maintenance at the shelter. He has been working there since being released from federal prison 10 months ago. “Hope Haven has changed my life dramatically,” the former drug user said. “Hope Haven is keeping me clean.” The mission serves special holiday meals on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Independence Day.
