AUBURN — Edgar W. Roberts of Wilton went to be with the Lord on April 11.

He was born the son of Minard Roberts Sr. and Ethel (Wilson) Roberts. Ed was a graduate of Mechanic Falls High School in 1949.

He served with the U.S. Air Force as well as the Army National Guard. He was an avid carpenter, roofer and painter. He was a member of Post 150 American Legion of Mechanic Falls as well as a member of the Mechanic Falls Fire Department.

In 1988, Ed married Glana Toothaker, and they worked at Cathedral Pines for seven years, where he was well-known as Ranger Ed by all the kids. He was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Ed enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and ice fishing.

Ed is survived by his wife, Glana; children, Ed Roberts Jr., Gary Roberts and his wife, Peggy, Glenn Roberts, Yvonne Bragdon and Gail Weaver; stepchildren, Bruce Lesperance and wife, Penny, Lisa Thibault and husband, Tim, Debra Terpstra and husband, Richard, Holly Gould and husband, Ivan and Scot Harrington and friend. Rebeccah; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; infant son, Christopher; son, Reggie; daughter, Mikey; and stepgrandson, Lance Lesperance.
