After I read the Sun Journal front page story April 10 about drugged driving, I was appalled that Jessica Thurston will not be charged for driving her car and crashing it while taking methadone. The crash killed her 8-year-old son.

Where is the justice in that case? What if she had crashed into an oncoming car and killed someone else? Would she have been charged then?

And why is she still driving, with her record of accidents and driving convictions?

There has to be some justice here. When are the lawmakers going to do something about it? They would if any one of them had been hit by her car.

I have less and less faith in the laws as time goes by. People need to wake up and do something, now.

Editor’s note: According to police reports, Jessica Thurston had fallen asleep at the wheel at the time of the wreck.
