FARMINGTON — Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire at Franklin Printing on routes 2 and 4 on Tuesday morning.

The fire involving an industrial dryer used in the paper process was put out by employees prior to Farmington Fire Rescue’s arrival, fire Chief Terry Bell said.

Heavy smoke reportedly rose from that area, he said.

Crews from other towns who were called out were turned back because they were not needed, Bell said.

Firefighters investigated and left the scene after everything was checked out, he said.
