JAY — The Daughters of Isabella Circle 677 from St. Rose of Lima Church held their recent business meeting on April 11. Chancellor Laurianne Castonguay led the group in the recitation of the rosary. The meeting was called to order by Regent Denise Rodzen. Castonguay went to the Salutation Table and recited the opening prayer.

A short form conferral was held to vote on and welcome new member Donna Cook. A long form conferral will be held at a later date.

Roll call of officers was read. Rita Crowley sat in for recording secretary Olive Couture, Denise Soucy sat in for auditor three Beatrice Moreau, Geri Ross sat in for banner bearer Dora Nickless.

Crowley read thank you cards received from Tri-Town Ministerial for the Souper Bowl of Caring, Spruce Mountain Middle School for a donation for The Price is Right, and one from Spruce Mountain High School. She then read letters received from American Legion 10 to sponsor a girl and a letter received from Penny Laverdiere asking for help in sponsoring a youth and young adult Ministry.

Scribe Kim Couture read what was put in the newspapers, Maryette Castonguay spoke about the success of the bean supper. Next regent spoke about who was going to attend the meeting in Lincoln. Eight daughters planned to go.

The mission money was voted on. Laurie Gagnepain read a list of different missions; everyone voted on who to send the money to. Crowley spoke about the Knights of Columbus free supper in March; she asked for the Daughters to help again in April with the dessert. A sign up sheet was set out for volunteers.

Regent spoke about the carnations for Mothers Day. It was voted to order 650 carnations.

Chancellor Laurieanne spoke about the yard sale that will be Saturday, May 5. Doors will open at 8 a.m. A group will set up tables on May 3 and begin setting out donated items on May 4.
