AUBURN — Lorraine L. Fournier, 89, of Auburn, passed away on April 24, after a lengthy illness, at the home of her daughter.

Our mom was born in Lewiston, on Aug. 19, 1922, the daughter of the late Delphis and Florestine Fournier Laliberte. She graduated first in her class from Lewiston High School. Mom’s employment as Social Services Coordinator at Montello Manor in Lewiston brought her great joy, helping others during their period of need.
Mom spent 67 years with her life partner, our dad, Wilfrid Fournier, whom she married in 1944 in Lewiston at St. Peter’s Church. Together they shared life, laughter and hard work. Their many trips to Florida and summers in Harpswell kept them vibrant and young at heart. Mom was happiest when Dad was pulling his lobster traps,
feeding her and the family.
Mom’s love for God Almighty and the Catholic Church kept her grounded and on track.
She is survived by her loving husband, Wilfrid; her daughter, Sonia Tyler and husband, Donald of Auburn; her son, Marc Fournier and wife, Jean of Lewiston;
grandson, Kevin Pratt and wife, Allie of Minot, grandson, Kenneth Pratt and wife, Melissa of Greene, grandson Matthew Fournier and wife, Susan of Lewiston, grandson, Traverse Fournier and wife, Sharon of Auburn, and grandson, Nicholas Lawton and wife, Miriam of Port Orchard, Wash. She leaves her sister, Beatrice Jackson and husband, Boyce of Cape Elizabeth; along with nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Carol Woodbury; her brother, Robert Laliberte; and her sister, Gertrude Laliberte.

We thank the professionals at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their compassion and focused care of our mother. You may share your condolences and fond memories with the Fournier family by visiting their guest book at www.thefortingrouplewiston.com.
