RUMFORD — Robert J. Bernard Jr., 53, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 24, in Rumford. He was a resident of the Garneau Road in Peru.

Born in Rumford, on June 13, 1958, he was a son of Robert and Mabel Jamison Bernard Sr.  He attended Mexico schools.  He worked for Richard Carrier as a truck driver. He enjoyed riding his Harley, bird hunting with his wife and daughter, Kayla, fishing, and gardening. He was a member of the Hog Chapter.

Robert was married in Peru, on Aug. 21, 1993, to Tish Levesque, who survives, of Peru.  Other survivors include three sons, Robert Bernard III and wife, Cassandra of Lisbon, John Bernard and wife, Sarah of Buckfield, Dan Levesque of Lisbon, daughters, Tanya West and her husband, Dean of Lewiston, Kayla Bernard of Carnegie, Pa.; brothers, Keith Virgin and wife, Denise of Hartford,  Kevin Williams of Mass., sisters, Karen Ruprecht and husband, Albert of Wilton, Kaye Abbott and husband, Donald of Dixfield, Debra Wentworth of Dixfield; and eight grandchildren. 

He was predeceased by his parents.
