Danville Grange to meet

AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 24. A memorial program will be conducted by Chaplain Simone Morin. Jeanne Burnham of York Pomona will conduct the Obligation Ceremony on one candidate.

Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. All grangers are welcome to attend, and if they have candidates waiting for the obligation, they are invited to bring them to this meeting.

Waterfront lifeguard class

POLAND — The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA is offering two Waterfront LG Certification Courses at Camp Connor. This course is designed to teach lifeguards, as professional rescuers, the skills needed to prevent injuries, prepare for and respond appropriately to drowning, injury, breathing and cardiac emergencies.

This course will train participants to the newly released lifeguard program, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Qualifying participants will receive an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid and CPR certifications valid for two years.

Session 1 runs May 25-27: Friday, May 25 from 5-8 p.m.; Saturday, May 26, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, May 27, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Session 2 runs June 1-3: Friday, June 1, 5 to 8 p.m.; Saturday, June 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, June 3, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Marine League to march

LEWISTON — The Marine Corp League, Central Maine, Detachment 810 will take part in the Lewiston-Auburn Memorial Day parade on Saturday, May 26.

MONMOUTH — The Memorial Day Parade will be on Monday, May 28. Veterans from the Monmouth area are being sought to assist in the holding of Colors and in the American Legion Post itself. There will be WWI veteran Lee Davis and other veterans from various wars.

Sabattus Memorial Day

SABATTUS — The Sabattus Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 28. The parade is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the Sabattus American Legion, on the Island Road. The parade will proceed from the Island Road onto Main Street, to Elm Street; turn onto Hemlock then on to Greene Street, ending at the veteran’s monument, where services will be held.

After services, participants will parade back to the Legion Hall where refreshments will be provided. All veterans organizations are invited to join the parade as well as local youth organizations. Those interested in participating in the parade should be at the post home no later than 8:30 a.m.
