KENNEBUNK — A Resurrection Eucharist Commemorating the Life of Lawrence Edward “J” Dwight Jr., of Wilton, formerly of Kennebunk, was held Friday at Saint David’s Episcopal Church, Kennebunk, with the Rev. Richard Anderson officiating. Congregation hymns included “We Gather Together,” “Amazing Grace” and “Rejoice ye Pure in Heart.”
The Liturgy of the Word included First Lesson: Isaiah 61:1-3, Psalm 23 (King James Version), Second Lesson: Revelation 21:2-7, Psalm 121 and The Holy Gospel was John 14:1-6. During Holy Communion, the hymns “I Love thy Kingdom, Lord” and “Abide with Me” were played. Personal reflections were offered by his oldest sister, Deb Kelley, his brother, Timothy Dwight, and son, Lance E. Dwight III.
Following services, refreshments were served in the vestry at Saint David’s, hosted by the church hospitality committee. A collation followed at Riverhurst Farm, Kennebunk. Private family committal services will be held in the near future at Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk. Arrangements were in the care and guidance of the Wiles Remembrance Center, 136 High St., Wilton.
