RUMFORD — Carol T. MacKinnon, R.N., 77, died Tuesday, June 12, at her residence on Hancock Street in Rumford.

She was born in Malden, Mass., Sept. 17, 1934, a daughter of Francis J. and Mary R. (MacArthur) O’Neil. She was a graduate of Braintree, (Mass.,) High School, Class of 1952, and a graduate of Malden Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1955. She worked at Malden Hospital for four years and then at the Rumford Hospital in the maternity ward for many years.

Carol was a communicant of the Parish of The Holy Savior St. Athanasius–St. John Church in Rumford. She was an avid Red Sox, Patriot and Bruins fan.

She was married in Malden, Mass., Sept. 19, 1959, to J. Herbert “Herbie” MacKinnon, who survives of Rumford.

Other survivors include two daughters, Karen MacKinnon of Rumford and Kim Kenney and husband, Timothy, of Windham; two grandchildren, T.J. Kenne, Jr and Kelsi Kenney of Windham; brother, Warren LaPrell of Florida; sister-in-law, Beverly Desroches and husband, Henry, of Dixfield; brother-in-law, John MacKinnon and wife, Pauline, of Peru; sister-in-law, Norma Donovan of Northborough, Mass.; brother-in-law, Dr. Wenceslao Perez of Mexico; many nieces and nephews; and her dog, Mack.

She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Robert and Ralph; foster brother, George Fitzpatrick; her in-laws, Thelma and Peter MacKinnon; and sister-in-law, Margaret Perez.
