JAY — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday for Roderick J. Perry, 97, of Jay with the Rev. Thomas Lequin, celebrant. Albert Perry, Roderick Small, Arthur Boutin, Dustin Small, Jackson and Steven Hutchins served as pallbearers. Granddaughter, Kimberly Boutin offered the readings and Ryan, Andrew and Dustin Small brought the gifts forward to the altar. Hymns sung by the resurrection choir were “Precious Lord,” “Just A Closer Walk With Thee,” “As the Deer Long,” “Alleluia! Sing To Jesus,” (sung by granddaughter, Karen Boutin) “I Am The Bread of Life,” “Saints of God” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Interment with military honors by members of local veterans organizations was at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Livermore Falls. Following the interment, his family hosted a time of fellowship and refreshment at LaFleur’s Restaurant in Jay. Arrangements were in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center.
