OXFORD — Nikki Millonzi is showing her paintings and artwork — inspired by our most valued resource, water — at The Maine Bookhouse.

Working with the Natural Resources Council of Maine, she hopes to remind  viewers of the need to protect rivers, lakes, ponds and aquifers.

Millonzi said she is fascinated by water, especially the way light dances on it. “I’m drawn to the quiet mirror of Keoka Lake at dawn and love to watch the changes as the day warms things up and the choppy band grows wider, finally covering the whole surface,” she said.

Millonzi’s “In Praise of Water” exhibit will be displayed through August. The Maine Bookhouse is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1545 Main St., on Route 26.
