Accidents

Lewiston

* A three-axle truck driven by Daniel Cyr, 26, of Mechanic Falls and owned by Almighty Waste of Auburn went struck a tree at 11:09 a.m. Wednesday near Main and Lincoln streets. According to the police report, Cyr said the brakes failed and he went off the road to avoid striking several other vehicles. There was no apparent damage to the 1997 Mack truck, the report said.
