NORWAY — Robert W. Harmon, 43, died from an accident in his home.
He was born Sept. 6, 1968, in Oakland, Calif., the son of Arthur R. and Tamara (Reusswig) Harmon. He graduated from Scarborough High School in 1988. He also attended USM and SMTC. He was preparing to take his pharmacy technician certification very soon.
He worked for several years at Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth as well as Embassy Suites in South Portland. He also worked as a builder in manufactured housing for approximately eight years in the Oxford Hills area.
In 2001, he married Aurora A. Witham. They took a week-long honeymoon cruise around the Hawaiian Islands. They made their home in Norway.
Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing or basically any outdoor activity. He was an avid war buff and could site many historical events. The Civil War was one of his favorites to study. He also did much celestial research and always observed the latest activity, for example, the meteorite display a week ago.
Robert had a wonderful sense of humor and liked listening to others stories. He was a collector of model cars and had a rather large collection.
He is survived by his wife and her family as well as his parents; a loving sister, Kristine; his grandmother, Virginia Harmon; Aunt Janet and Uncle Arthur, Uncle Ken and Aunt Karen and Uncle Bryan; plus several cousins; and his constant companion, Chelsea, his English Springer Spaniel.
