POTSDAM, N.Y. — The following students will attend Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., as members of the Class of 2016:

Aimee Giffune of Turner, a graduate of Leavitt Area High School. Giffune will be majoring in chemical engineering.

Caleb Verrill of Poland, a graduate of Saint Dominic Regional High School. Verrill will be majoring in mechanical engineering.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wagner College announced that Kathleen S. Pickel of Buckfield made the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester, which requires a minimum 3.70 GPA.

ASHLAND, Va. — Elizabeth Hahnel of New Gloucester graduated with  Bachelor of Arts degrees in environmental studies and psychology from Randolph-Macon College. Hahnel is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan R. Hahnel of New Gloucester.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Daniel Fitzsimons of Turner was named to the Marist College dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester. Fitzsimons is a member of the Class of 2012 and majored in communication – advertising.

EASTON, Mass. — The following local residents recently graduated from Stonehill College.

Lewiston resident Colby Raymond Roy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Naples resident Todd Clark Shigo earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration degree.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Eckerd College has announced the graduation of Nicholas Ochtman of Winthrop. One of 540 Eckerd College graduates, Ochtman received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication during commencement ceremonies on May 20.

BRISTOL, R.I. — The following local residents are among those named to the Roger Williams University dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester.

Phillip Jacques, a environmental science major and resident of Durham.

Sarah Smith, a graphic design communications major and resident of Wilton.

GRANVILLE, Ohio — A Readfield student was among the 513 graduates awarded diplomas at Denison University’s 171st commencement held May 13. Maxwell Frary Newton of Readfield was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Denison by President Dale Thomas Knobel.

Newton graduated with a major in psychology and a minor in chemistry with a concentration in neuroscience. He was active with the Senior Class Gift Committee and was a volunteer firefighter/EMT for the Granville Township Fire Department.

WEST HAVEN, Conn. — Janelle Berry of Harrison graduated from the University of New Haven on May 13 with an Associate of Science degree in dental hygiene.

BOSTON, Mass. — Janet Beardsley of Minot and Joyce Kyllonen of Poland have graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston this spring.

BOSTON — The following local students were awarded degrees from MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston on May 10.

Aparna Dandekar, a resident of Lewiston, was awarded a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Ajit Sankhe, a resident of Lewiston, was awarded a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
