RANGELEY — The Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust announces the hiring of Chris Devine from Holderness, N.H., as its executive director to replace Nancy Perlson upon her retirement.

Devine served as the executive director of the Squam Lakes Association for 12 years and oversaw a variety of recreational, educational, and youth programs, campsite usage and trail maintenance. He directed all aspects of that nonprofit organization with five full-time and 25 part-time employees, 200 volunteers, 4,000 members, and an annual budget of $1 million.

Devine will assume his new role on Oct. 1, allowing him adequate time to become oriented prior to Perlson’s departure at the end of the year.
