LISBON — Residents may order birth, marriage and death certificates online from the town at anytime, from anywhere, according to town officials.

The Maine Municipal Online Vital Records Ordering Service can be used to request certified copies of vital records for school, sports, legal requirements, genealogy research and other needs. Each request can include up to five records or copies.

Lisbon holds birth, marriage and death records for those events occurring in the town, as well as births to any mother who was a resident of the town at the time of the birth.

A valid U.S. driver’s license is needed to place an order, and the person requesting the documents must be eligible to obtain the records under Maine state law. Order fees are payable by Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit/debit card. Each order includes identity verification, processing and shipping fees.

The Maine Municipal Vital Records Ordering service is provided by InforME, the e-government provider for the state of Maine. InforME has been processing electronic payments for Maine state and local government since 1999. All private customer data is secured according to the most up-to-date and stringent security standards.
