Coach: Mike Hathaway (11th year)
Last year’s record: 11-1, lost in Class B state championship
Returning players: Seniors —Brian Bedard (slot/DB), Josh Bunker (TE/LB), Brandon Collins (DE), Tom Langelier (T/NT), Devin McMahan (G/DT); Juniors — Nate Coombs (slot/CB), Sam Green (SE), Levi Morin (C/LB), Matt Powell (T/DT).
Key losses: Jordan Hersom (QB/DB), Jake Ouellette (RB/LB), Ian Durgin (slot/DB), Oscar Rodriguez (slot/DB), Dan Sleeper (TE/NT), Jack Griffin (OL/DE), Jake Posik (OL/DT), Tyler Vallee (TE/DE), Brandon MacDonald (TE/DE).
Promising newcomers: Senior —Kevin Russell (slot/TB/DE), Tyler Lessard (DL), Dalton Duncan (TE); Juniors — Tyler Chicoine (QB), Josh Faunce (TB), Matt Melanson (SE), Matt Child (G/DT), Conor O’Malley (LB), Clay Rowland (DB), Nate Rouseeau (slot/DB), Scott Sleeper (TE/LB), Seth Adams (DB); Sophomore — Adam Poulin (RB), Mitchell Davis (TE).
Outlook: Nine starters return for the three-time defending PTC champions. But that does not include the two men the offense ran through the last two years, Hersom and Ouellette. Chicoine and Faunce will have those big shoes to fill, and will lead a skill position group that isn’t as big this year but boasts speed, depth and a game-breaker in Bedard. By contrast, the offensive line has plenty of size and experience. The interior of the defensive line isn’t as experienced, but the ends and linebackers, led by Bunker and Collins, will be a strength. Bedard and Coombs highlight a talented secondary
Coach’s comment: “We like our depth and definitely like our speed at the skill spots.” — Coach Mike Hathaway
