‘Celebration of Fall’ at library

HANOVER — The fourth annual Celebration of Fall will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Gardner Roberts Memorial Library.

It will feature baskets, quilt and photo raffles. Also featured will be bake sales, book sales, trash and treasure sales, craft gifts and a snack bar.

Grange food, rummage sale

DIXFIELD — Mystic Valley Grange 313 will hold a rummage and food sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. Lunch will be served.

Stephens High Class of 1951

RUMFORD — The Stephens High School Class of 1951 will celebrate their 61st class reunion on Oct. 7 and 8 at 49 Franklin St.

Rumford quilters to meet Oct. 8

RUMFORD — Rumford Area Quilters will meet Monday, Oct. 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street.

Anyone wanting to participate in the fall fabric swap should bring 30 6.5-inch squares cut from 100 percent cotton fabric that has been washed, dryer-dried and ironed.

Twelve and a half inch squares being collected this fall are: Arrowhead Puzzle with white background, “fun fabric” and leaf square. Come enjoy show and tell, tips, ideas and good company. All area quilters invited. For more information call 562-7050.

Mexico High Class of 1959

RUMFORD — The Mexico High School Class of 1959 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Gatch’s. The meeting is the second Tuesday this month because of the Fryeburg Fair.

Fire Dept. at story time

RUMFORD — The Rumford Fire Department will be at the Rumford Public Library Story Time for Fire Safety Week at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10. All area children are welcome.

Remove items from cemetery

PERU — The Demerritt Cemetery Association requests that all ornamental items be removed from the lots by Oct. 13. Fall decorations may be left, but must be picked up by Nov. 3.

Blazing Star turkey supper

RUMFORD — A turkey supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Blazing Star Lodge on Route 232.

Menu is turkey, mashed potatoes, peas, carrots, cole slaw, macaroni salad, stuffing, cranberry sauce, coffee, punch and pie, served family-style.

Adults $10, under 12 $5. Proceeds to benefit the Rumford Royal Arch Chapter 56.

There is  a stair chair on the back stairs.

Historical society open house

ANDOVER — Andover Historical Society will hold an open house at the East Andover School House and Andover Building on Elm Street from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.

The theme will be “Old kitchen utensils and favorite receipts.” To lend items to display, call Trudy at 394-3157. Items may also be brought to the building the day of the open house.

Everyone welcome. Refreshments will be served.
