Androscoggin County is fortunate to have qualified Lewiston attorney Michael Dubois running for judge of probate.
Sadly, after almost 40 years of honorable service, Judge Robert Couturier passed, the seat was vacated and a temporary replacement was appointed pending a special election.
This November, a replacement will be elected. The judge of probate handles important matters, such as wills, estates, child custody, mental fitness, and is responsible for protecting vulnerable people in difficult times. The decision should be based on experience, knowledge and skill, not political handouts.
Dubois has more than 25 years of experience in exactly that area of law. From being a guardian ad litem to being a family advocate, to writing wills and estate planning.
Children and the elderly deserve better than just a political favor deciding these very important issues.
I will be voting for Michael Dubois for judge of probate because experience matters.
