The Public Theatre’s 22nd season officially opens Friday, Oct. 19, with the hip new comedy “The Book Club Play.” Ana hosts a monthly book club attended by an oddball group of friends. As they discuss books from “Moby Dick” and “The Age of Innocence” to “The Da Vinci Code” and “Twilight,” their own storylines come to the surface. “At its heart, the play is about friendship and how books connect and reveal us, both to ourselves and each other,” Director Christopher Schario said. The play will run through Oct. 28 at the theater at Maple and Lisbon streets in Lewiston. For tickets, call 782-3200 or visit www.thepublictheatre.org.
