LEWISTON — Jeannette Marie Couturier Vachon, 82, of Lisbon, died Oct. 24, at Ouellette’s Adult Foster Home.
She was born in Lewiston, Nov. 18,1929, the daughter of Onesime and Lucie Lagace Couturier. Educated in Lewiston Catholic schools, she worked in the Bates Mill as a supervisor and inspector of fabrics for 10 years. She later worked as a homemaker and supported her husband’s businesses.
On Jan. 31, 1953, she married Robert D. Vachon of Lewiston. They settled in Lisbon in 1957, and raised four children. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, scrapbooking and most of all laughing.
She is survived by her children; son, Russell and his wife, Donna, daughter, Christine and her husband, Wayne Roberts, daughter, Joyce and her husband, Robert Severance, son, Paul and his girlfriend, Lisa Pare; grandchildren, Gary Roberts, Matthew and Derek Vachon, Nicole and Scott Faherty, Dustin Vachon; and half-sister, Mildred Koopman of Florida.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert D. Vachon; her parents at a young age; her adoptive parents, Maxime and Jeannette Couturier; son, Charles G. Vachon; sister, Marie Thibeault of Connecticut; sister, Florence Couturier; brother, George Couturier; grandson, Tommy Lee Stewart; and half-brother, Maxime Couturier.
