JAY — RSU 73 Spruce Mountain Adult and Community Education has announced upcoming computer classes for the fall semester. Residents still have time to sign up.

Courses that will be offered before the holiday break include the following:

Computer Tutor: Free and open to anyone; from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays, Nov. 5 and 19, Word Processing; Nov. 26 and Dec. 3, Excel; Dec. 10 and 17, open class for questions or concerns; Spruce Mountain Adult and Community Education Center.

Introduction to Word: Learn how to use Word or brush up on skills for the Microsoft Office software that allows users to create and edit documents, cards, brochures and other forms; 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, Nov. 8 through Dec. 20, education center; cost, $60 plus $5 lab fee.

Excel: Learn how to use or brush up on skills for Microsoft Office Software which is useful for operations such as math calculations, graphing and setting up tables; 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 7 through Dec. 9, education center; cost, $60 plus $5 lab fee.

Computers for Seniors: No skills required, learn basic computer skills over a six-week period, 9 to 11 a.m. Fridays, Nov. 9 through Dec. 21, education center; cost, $40 plus $5 lab fee.

Computer Maintenance and Security: Basic maintenance, privacy online, ID theft, recognizing and avoiding spyware, viruses, phishing scams; education center from 6 to 7  p.m. Thursdays, Nov. 8, 15 and 29; cost, $45.

Senior citizens and those enrolled in more than one computer class will receive a $5 discount. If interested, call 897-6384 to register.
