Groups held Living Rosary

JAY — On Oct. 13 a Living Rosary was held. Sister Vice Regent Dorothy Morgan from the Daughters Of Isabella Circle 677 headed the Rosary. Everyone met at the Parish Hall to find out where each person was to be in the Rosary.

Morgan attends both St. Rose in Jay and St. Joseph’s in Farmington. The Living Rosary was made up of parishioners from different clubs from St. Rose, Eucharistic Ministers, Daughters of Isabella, Knights of Columbus, Altar Guild, Youth & Church Life and parishioners from St. Joseph’s.

Helen Hobbs recited the Mysteries. After the Rosary was completed everyone met back at the parish hall for a light luncheon put on by the Daughters of Isabella.

WILTON — The Wilton Free Public Library will host a reception at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, for Lawrence Wilbur, whose book “Let Me Take Your Hand: A Memoir” was recently published.

Wilbur was born in 1923 in Franklin County. He began working for G.H. Bass in 1953, spent 28 years hand-stitching shoes, then spent another 19 years travelling the world on behalf of G.H. Bass, demonstrating how Bass Weejuns were made.

Wilbur will be available to answer questions about the book and his remarkable experiences. Refreshments will be served. For more information call the library at 645-4831 or visit www.wilton-free.lib.me.us.

Keep Me Warm potluck suppers

FAYETTE — The Fayette Keep Me Warm potluck suppers will start on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Fayette School from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

There will be lots of Christmas basket raffles and a special table for children to purchase gifts. There will also be music.
