Coach: Jake Gentle (first year)
Last year’s record: 1-17
Returning players: Seniors — Brad Groh (6-3 forward), Kyle Sheehan (6-1 forward), Mason Haley (5-10 guard), Ryan Brewer (5-10 guard), Nick Collins (6-0 forward); Juniors — Kendal Roy (5-7 guard), Tucker Brannon (5-10 guard), Jacob Bremmer (6-6 center); Sophomores — Johnny Yim (5-10 guard), Kyle Bourget (5-10 guard).
Key losses: Derick Lycette (6-1 forward), Mason Smith (5-8 guard).
Promising newcomers: Sophomore — Cole Greaves (6-2 forward); Freshman — Marcarthur Kilby (6-2 forward).
Outlook: Lisbon ended a lengthy MVC losing streak late last season and returns most of that cast. Gentle takes over after leading the Greyhounds girls’ program to several tournament appearances. The depth of Lisbon’s senior class and Bremmer’s size in the paint provide building blocks. Rebounding and turnovers have been areas of deficiency that the Greyhounds must correct in order to contend for a Class C tournament berth.
Coach’s comment: “This season we expect to compete with teams in our conference. We have some experienced upperclassmen that will lead the team.” — Coach Jake Gentle
