Coach: Mark Stevens (16th year)
Last year’s record: Fifth in Class C
Returning athletes: Juniors — Zach Stevens (132), Tyler Bard (138), David Moore (190), Dylan Dall (145), Josh Collier (145); Sophomores — Cody Brauneis (106), J.D. Martin (119), Mike Demarest (126).
Key loss: Zach Splude (171).
Promising newcomers: Senior — Ben Kates (160); Junior — Darius Slaughter (145); Sophomore — Jake Mulderig (112); Freshmen — Ashley Patten (120), Ian Arsenault (140).
Outlook: Lisbon is a year older but still young after a year in which it took a step back from its usual perch in the top three of Class C. Zach Stevens was a 120-pound state champion and Bard and Moore each reached the semifinals. The Greyhounds will have improved depth in both the younger grades and lower weight classes. They’ll tackle the same rugged schedule as always, including all the major Maine invitationals and a trip to Essex Junction, Vt.
Coach’s comment: “Everybody should be a little bit better with another year of experience.” — Coach Mark Stevens
