Mawhinney, a 2008 graduate of Edward Little High School, skied on the EL Nordic team and now works in Washington, D.C. Esponnette also skied for EL and graduated in 2007. He now works in Boston. The former teammates are home visiting for the holidays. Snow conditions were perfect, Mawhinney said. “Today is the day to be out here.”
