WINTHROP — Riley Robinson dropped in 18 points and Hunter Ross added 15 more as Dirigo rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to post a 70-57 victory over Winthrop in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Cougars (10-0) trailed 30-23 at the half, and the teams were tied after three quarters, but Dirigo struck for 30 points in the final quarter to put the game away.

Hunter Kilgore hit three 3-pointers and led the Ramblers (5-5) with 19 points, while Anthony Owens dropped in 11.

Messalonskee 51, Oxford Hills 45

OAKLAND — Three different players scored nine points as Messalonskee used a balanced attack to wear down Oxford Hills, 51-45, in a KVAC basketball tilt Friday.

Jordon Holmes, Nick Mayo and Jordan Carson each hit for nine for the Eagles (5-5).

Jake Plummer topped all players with 12 for the Vikings (4-6) in the defeat, while John Frechette drilled a pair of treys and finished with nine.

Lewiston 70, Mt. Blue 30

FARMINGTON — Josh Thomas scored 12 points and Lewiston’s defense held Mt. Blue to single-digit scoring for three quarters as the Blue Devils rolled over the Cougars, 70-30, in a boys’ basketball game Friday night.

The winless Cougars stayed with the Devils (5-5) for the first quarter.

But the Lewiston blew open a 36-16 halftime lead.

Kindle Bonsall scored six points for Mt. Blue.

Boothbay 68, Telstar 45

BOOTHBAY — Anthony DiMauro and John Hepburn each scored 16 points as Boothbay (9-1) dismissed Telstar (3-6) with a 68-45 victory in a boys’ basketball game.

By halftime, Boothbay led 28-20 before erupting with 22 points in the third quarter.

Mike DelDuca scored 19 points and Maverick Griffin scored 11 for

Telstar.

Fryeburg 57, Gray-NG 34

FRYEBURG — Junior guard Walker Mallory scored a game-high 15 points to lead Fryeburg to a 57-34 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Raiders (3-7) applied full-court pressure for a 38-13 run in the middle two quarters. Bright Amoako recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds for Fryeburg.

Junior guard Sam Johnson had five field goals, including a pair from three-point range, to provide the Patriots (1-7) with a team-leading 14 points.
