FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue went 19-for-20 at the free-throw line in the last quarter and Gabby Foy scored 17 points as Mt. Blue brought down undefeated Mt. Ararat, 58-47, in a girls’ basketball game Tuesday.

Mt. Ararat took a 23-20 lead at halftime before the Cougars (8-3) erupted with 23 points in the crucial fourth quarter. Amy Hilton went 8-for-8 at the free-throw line in the final stanza and scored 10 points.

Everybody got into the act for Mt. Blue. Jaycee Jenckes pulled down eight rebounds and scored nine points. Mackenzie Conlogue had eight rebounds to go along with her seven points. Miranda Nicely threw 11 points and also pulled down eight rebounds.

For Mt. Ararat (10-1), Caitlin LaFountain scored 15 points and Mallory Nelson had 17.

Leavitt 58, Waterville 36

TURNER — Leavitt sprinted out to a 12-point advantage in the first frame and raced away to a 58-36 win over Waterville in a KVAC girls’ matchup Tuesday.

Meagan Dow led the Hornets (10-1) with 19 points, while Jenna Cote and Mariah Treadwell each added 13 in a well-balanced attack.

Waterville (2-9) was paced by Colleen O’Donnell with a solid 13-point effort, while Alexa Frame chipped in with 12.

Boys’ basketball

York 68, Poland 39

POLAND — After jumping out to a 9-0 lead in the opening minutes, York raced away to a 68-39 rout over Poland in a WMC boys’ basketball tilt Tuesday.

Aaron Todd led York (9-1) with 18 points, while Zach Leal tallied 14 and Hayden Webster added 12.

The Knights (2-8) were paced by CJ Martin with a solid 18-point effort, while Josh Gary chipped in with seven.

Mt. Abram 58, Telstar 53

BETHEL — Ian James ignited a 15-10 third-quarter run that allowed Mt. Abram to squeak out a 58-53 win over Telstar in MVC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

James finished with 15 points in the contest, including six in that key third frame. Amos James chipped in with 14 points in what was essentially a two-man attack.

The struggling Rebels (1-10) were paced by veteran Mike DelDuca with 30 points and 11 rebounds. Maverick Griffin chipped in with 13 points in one of Telstar’s best overall efforts this season.

St. Dom’s 56, Oak Hill 43

AUBURN — St. Dom’s used a 17-12 run in the second frame to pull away from Oak Hill and went on to record a 56-43 victory in more KVAC boys’ hoops action Tuesday.

Nick Hatfield led the Saints with 14 points, while Mike Bryant chipped in with 10. Matt Dyer also contributed with a solid nine-point effort.

The Raiders were led by veteran Luke Washburn with 16 points, while Trevor Samson added 13.

Buckfield 49, Sacopee Valley 24

BUCKFIELD — Tyler Goyette dropped in the game-high 16 points and Micah Madore followed with 13 as Buckfield knocked around Sacopee Valley with a lopsided 49-24 victory in a boys’ basketball game Tuesday.

The Bucks built 31-6 halftime lead and held Sacopee Valley to single-digit scoring for three quarters.

Madore knocked down two 3-pointers for the Bucks (5-6).

Mt. Ararat 58, Mt. Blue 38

FARMINGTON — After trailing by one after the first quarter, Mt. Ararat hit full throttle and used a 20-4 third-quarter run to post a 58-38 win over Mt. Blue.

Shyheim Ulrickson led the Eagles (5-6) with a game-high 22 points, while Kevin Carter tallied eight and Mason Griffin added seven.

The winless Cougars (0-8) were paced by Kindle Bonsall with 13 points, while Nate Backus chipped in with eight.
