ORONO — Liz Wood tallied her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds but it wasn’t enough as the University of Maine women’s basketball team dropped an 85-54 decision to Boston University on Wednesday evening at Alfond Arena.

Ashleigh Roberts added 10 points and three assists for Maine while Danielle Walczak chipped in nine points and five rebounds. Maine shot 31.7 percent from the field while the Terriers went 29-for-62 (46.8 percent). Boston University held a slight advantage in the rebounding department as it outrebounded Maine 42-41.

Maine kept things tight in the beginning as Wood found Corinne Wellington for a foul line jumper to give the Black Bears an early lead. Boston University answered by taking a three-point lead before Wood again found the open shooter, hitting Courtney Anderson of Greene with a pass which resulted in a bucket for Maine, closing the gap to just one.
