Marine Corps League to meet
AUBURN — The Marine Corps League Central Maine Detachment 818 will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at the American Legion Post 31, Washington Street. The four chaplain service will take place before the meeting. All are welcome.
The league is trying to form a firing squad for their service to fallen comrades.
Benefit for Jackie Hudson
LEWISTON — The friends and family of Jackie Hudson will hold a spaghetti supper fundraiser from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 1, at the YWCA, 130 East Ave.
A bake sale and silent auction will also take place.
Hudson is employed at Verso Paper in Jay and is an avid bass fisherman. He has been undergoing treatment for lung cancer for many months. Proceeds will help defray the cost of treatments and related expenses.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Payroll Management, 100 Manley Road, Auburn; My Dad’s Place, 458 Old Jay Road, Jay; Vicki McLeod at the Jay Mill and at the door.
Indoor lawn sale March 1-2
LITCHFIELD — A cabin fever reliever indoor lawn sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2, at Litchfield Community Christian Church, 1181 Hallowell Road, across from the Post Office.

Golden Age Club meetings resume
AUBURN — The first meeting of the year for the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish – Golden Age Club will be Tuesday, March 12. Social hour is from 11 a.m. to noon.
A traditional Irish boiled dinner at noon will be followed by a business and planning meeting. New members and guests are welcome.
The cooks need know how many are coming, so call 576-4082 to make a reservation. Payment of $5 will be accepted at the door.
