The brick tower of the Norway Opera House was badly damaged, this afternoon, when several hundred bricks, loosened by the frost, fell to the three stories below. Fortunately there was no loss of life nor any person injured. A short time later, when the performance at the opera house had been completed, crowds came from the building, and had this happened at that time it is probable that many would have been seriously injured, if not killed. As the heavy mass of bricks and mortar plunged to the sidewalk, they made a sound that could be heard plainly half a mile away. Outside of the damage to the building itself, the loss will be small, but no little trouble in making the repairs is anticipated.
