FARMINGTON — Some residents in the Route 27 area lost power Sunday afternoon after a vehicle struck and broke a utility pole.
Steven Woodard, 47, of Cumberland was driving a 1999 Jeep Cherokee down Route 27 toward Route 4 about 3:18 p.m. when he fell asleep, crossed the center line, went off the road to the left and hit the pole, breaking it, Rachel Heseltine, secretary at the Farmington Police Department, said.
Woodard’s wife, Donna, 47, received some abrasions and bruises, and a child, Lewis, 11, was not injured, Heseltine read from Farmington officer Ryan Rosie’s report.
The vehicle was towed by Bryan’s Auto Body. Central Maine Power was called to fix the pole and restore power.
