FARMINGTON — On April 1 the Tri Town Seniors met at Murray Hall for their regular weekly meeting. Fernande Doiron, president, opened the meeting with the usual ceremony. There were 25 members and one guest, Marie Lavoie, present.

It was reported Nancy Couture is back home and recuperating as well as Marguerite Slovak. The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were read and accepted.

On Monday, April 8, the group will hold their monthly Chinese auction.

On April 29 the refreshment committee will be serving root beer floats for refreshments.

Secretary John Beaudoin tended his resignation so in May a new secretary will be elected. Fern asked for volunteers for the position as well as assistant secretary.

During the month of April there is only one celebrant for the birthday of the month, so all joined in with George Doiron to sing “Happy Birthday” to Frances Therrien.

Fern announced that on Saturday, April 6, a benefit bean supper will be held for the families burned out of their home on Church Street on March 16. The supper will be held at the KC Hall on Main Street in Jay. The price is $8 for adults and $4 for 10 and under. For more information call Fern at 897-2782.

The 50/50 was won by Marie Lavoie. Door prizes donated by members were won by Aurelien Couture, Blanche Bilodeau, Elvina Miller and Gloria Bickford.

A birthday cake donated by Evelyn Chabot and ice cream were served following the meeting.

Beano, cards and games were then enjoyed by all present.
