It’s spring but that doesn’t mean that we can’t get a snowstorm Friday.

A storm moving across the Midwest should mix with colder air in Maine on Friday to create a mix of snow, sleet, and rain.

The snow will start overnight and turn to sleet in the south Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service. The precipitation will turn to sleet and rain from south to north.

Central and northern sections of Maine can expect 2 to 4 inches of snow. Snow and sleet could continue Friday night into Saturday morning.

Any snow accumulations shouldn’t last since high temperatures in central Maine are expected to reach into the 50s.
