STATEWIDE — There are more than 4,000 school-aged military connected children and youth in Maine.

Operation Military Kids and its state team representing the military branches, local organizations and individuals are working together to provide educational, social and recreational opportunities to support military children and their families in Maine.

In support of military youths there are a number events being planned in April celebrating the Month of the Military Child:

April is Child & Youth month for the American Legion Auxiliary Nationwide. Contact Charlotte Doyle at 207-443-8816.

Operation Military Kids state and national partners want to recognize celebrate and thank all military youth, families and service men and women for their commitment and service to our country.

‘Purple Up’ Day

April 15 is“Purple Up” Day. Thank military personnel and families by wearing purple. Support and recognize the sacrifice that military personnel, families and youth are making in support of the country.
