FARMINGTON — Lawrence F. Decker, 58, of Farmington, died unexpectedly Monday, April 15, in Farmington.
He was born April 21, 1954, in Farmington, a son of Cyrus and Mary (McKenna) Decker. He attended local schools, graduating from Mt. Blue High School.
As a young man, Larry got his start as an electrician with Forest Allen. He later ventured out on his own with Decker Electric from 1977 to 1989. Since then, he has worked as an electrician with the University of Maine at Farmington.
Early in life, he enjoyed snowmobiling and camping, but has always enjoyed being in the outdoors, especially hunting. He was also a member of the Farmington Elks Lodge.
Larry is survived by his children, Jason Decker and his companion, Heather Ryan, of Vassalboro and Heather Daehler and her husband, Josh, of Natick, Mass.; grandchildren, Jacob and Chase Daehler and Addison Decker; siblings, Robert Decker and his wife, Chrissie, of Wilton and Cheryl Snell of the Bangor area; sisters-in-law, Judy Frost of Farmington and Judy Cote of Pennsylvania; and a special niece, Denise DeWalt-Barner of Pennsylvania.
He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Wayne and Kevin Cote.
