LEWISTON — Local schools will be holding pre-K registration for children born between Oct. 16, 2008, and Oct. 15, 2009.

Parent informational meetings are scheduled as follows:

Monday, May 20, at 6 p.m. at Montello for Montello and Farwell.

Tuesday, May 21, at 6 p.m. at McMahon for McMahon and Martel.

Wednesday, May 22, at 6 p.m. at Geiger for Geiger.

Registration and a parent informational meeting will take place between 2 and 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Longley only for Longley students.

Registration for all other schools will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 28, 29 and 30 at Dingley, 36 Oak St.

The lottery will be held between 8:30 a.m. and noon Friday, June 7, at Dingley. Schools will be drawn in this order: Geiger, McMahon, Montello and Longley.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten registration and screening will be held at the following times and locations. Call the school in your district for an appointment. Child must be present at registration and must be 5 years old by Oct. 15.

Monday, May 6, 8:30 to 2:30 p.m., Martel School, 795-4130.

Tuesday, May 7, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Farwell School, 795-4110.

Wednesday, May 8, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Geiger School, 795-4160.

Thursday, May 9, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., McMahon School, 795-4140; Longley School, 795-4120.

Friday, May 10, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Montello School, 795-4150.

Parent, medical and education informational forms will need to be completed.

For kindergarten and pre-K, a certified birth certificate is required. If the child was not born in the U.S., parents will need to bring an I-94 or green card. Also required at the appointment are immunization records and proof of residency: driver’s license with school appropriate address, lease or rent agreement, utility bills or mortgage agreement.
