AUBURN — Residents of Auburn and surrounding areas are invited to a screening of a new climate change documentary called “Do The Math” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at 79 Skillings Corner Road.
The Auburn screening is one of more than 700 community screenings and house-parties that are part of Earth Night, a nationwide event organized by the international climate campaign 350.org.
After the online premier of the film at 7, the group will discuss Climate Summer bike riders visiting L/A between July 8-15 and will review the five environmental bills being introduced to Maine’s legislature this week.
“Do The Math” follows Bill McKibben, an environmental author and the founder of 350.org, on last November’s 21-city “Do The Math” tour that helped spark a new fossil fuel divestment campaign that is sweeping the nation.
The film also features author Naomi Klein, climate scientist Dr. James Hansen, Rep. Henry Waxman, green jobs visionary Majora Carter, environmental activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu and other climate and progressive leaders.
