LEWISTON — A vehicle crashed into the Kora Shrine Temple on Sabattus Street Sunday night, resulting in a charge of operating under the influence and a totaled vehicle.
According to Sgt. Roger Landry of the Lewiston Police Department, Nicholas Beauchesne, 27, of Lewiston was charged after the Chevrolet Malibu he was driving left the roadway and collided with the building.
Beauchesne was the only occupant of the vehicle and was uninjured when he was arrested at the accident scene.
The Lewiston Fire Department responded to assist with the accident and remove debris from the face of the mostly unharmed granite wall.
According to Landry, details of the accident are still under investigation.
